As an inhabitant of Metroland myself I thoroughly enjoyed this short book - definitelty recommend. Though the novel could be a little longer in order for the characters to be better developed it is nevertheless an interesting read/5(20). Metroland is Julian Barnes' first published novel.
I've never heard of it, but then again, I hadn't heard of Julian Barnes himself until two years ago. I've picked this up without reading the blurb, solely based on the fact that it was written by Barnes.
